In this special issue, a variety of contributors from a range of academic disciplines come together to discuss femicide in war. The article aims to introduce new perspectives concerning the study of femicide globally. Weil discusses the thin dividing line between femicide in war and peace. Femicide is defined as the intentional murder of women in relation to their gender. Females are most often the primary victims of intimate partner or family-related homicide cases. The elements of femicide are subject to change in times of peace and war.
